As I have been living in Brussels since September now, I know a lot of things about Brussels..
WRONG!
Actually, I still don’t know even a quarter of everything which is going on in this lively city.
But for the moment, as I am still discovering my capital I can give you a very cool place where many inspiring and cool people go to.
It is called the HUB and is a place where social entrepreneurs meet. It is a very beautiful place near the central station and the people who go there are trainers, coaches,eu union employees,CEO’s.. In other words; really interesting people with as many crazy ideas as a four year old kid! This place is amazing for networking and there are also often very cool workshops about coaching, sustainable energy, creativity exc..
Visit their website (www.thehubbrussels.pbwiki.com) and go! There will allways be someone to have an ineresting conversation with, or someone who will give you that last advice to really start your project.
Hope to see you on the island of creativity, in the middle of Brussels!
Going on a mission to find yourself and know what you really want is not an easy thing to do. When I explained why I took the decision to stop studying and take a year out to find myself, people thought it was not-done. These people were all living life in a rush and didn’t take the time to really look withinthemselves ...
I didn’t understand this rush and thought, if I don’t do it now at 18.. when will I? So I took my time.
With ups and downs I started to feel how beautiful life is and how many opportunities there are out there for me. But it wasn’t allways easy to live life in a completely different way than others. Students who surrounded me thought I was wasting my time and losing a year. But I knew that this is what I needed and in these difficult moments, there were allways people who motivated me.
One of the most motivating text’s I got was this one. I want to pass this one to you, who also feels that there are other paths to create than the ordinary one.
To the crazy ones
Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,
disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
While some see them as the crazy ones,
we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do.
Since I stopped university in the beginning of this year I have been doing many different things. And sometimes I have the feeling that people don’t really know what is going on in my life. And most of all they do not understand what this year brought to me. Most of them still think it is a “lost-year” instead of a “gap-year”. Because for them a gapyear is travelling to Australia and discovering new continentals.
What about discovering yourself?
I understood that before discovering new places, new people, new experiences you have to disover yourself.
”Do not look outside of yourself for the leader”.
This is what I am doing. Looking for the leader, inside of Chiara.
Hello friends,family,aiesec’ers,night-wakers,morning-birds and lost surfers!
This is the first time I make a blog and I must admit that it’s quite scary to post messages on the internet, avaible to everyone and all. But as dear Van Gogh said: “What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?”
This blog is for you, who will get to know a little piece of me.
